Late

Since we have so much other stuff in common, do people who are always late drive any of you nuts? It does me, unless they're late for a good reason. Seems like most people are always rushing and hurrying here and there, yet they are always late. It drives me insane.

    Hi Lisa,

You must know my ex-husband! I would rather be 30 minutes early for something rather than five minutes late. My ex prefers to arrive *exactly* on time -- which usually means late. Ironically, we used to get into the *biggest* fights on our way to weddings. I didn't want to walk into the church at the same time the bride did. He didn't see the point of arriving 15 minutes early.

My ex chronically underestimates how long it will take to accomplish tasks and errands, and he often leaves them to the last minute. I can't tell you how many birthday parties we attended while we were married where we bought the gift on the way to the party and wrapped it in the car.

He is fully aware that his chronic lateness drives me up the wall. I have come to believe that he simply is inconsiderate of other people (especially me, it seems) and *their* time.

Late sucks, I like being a little early, but not the first one there either.

Yes it bothers me when people are late. Especially when my own boss is late. It irritates me.

I'm always early to everything. For college I'm always three hours early for my singn language class so I can get parking because if I have to track people down and search for one I get stressed out. Stupid and lame but that is me. :) Normally I'm just an hour to a half hour early for everything else. Ya never know when traffic will come or something gets in your way.

    Jenna :)

Better late than never? Better never late!

      Hi Jenna,

I can *really* relate to what you're saying! For my last job, I used to arrive in the parking lot at 7:30 even though the workday didn't start until 9:00. (I, too, do not do well sitting in traffic or looking for a parking space when I am under pressure.) Because arriving at work an hour and a half early didn't mean that I would be allowed to leave an hour and a half early, I would sit in the car each morning and write in my journals.

I like that.....better late than never? Better never late! I'm going to remember that the next time I have to hear "better late than never".
A little early or right on time works for me. But, when I was working I was always at least 1/2 hour early and could always find something to do until work started. The majority of my co-workers came flying in right on the minute. Most of the time they looked so stressed out they looked like they were going to have a heart attack. Then, sometime during the day, they would usually ask me if they could borrow my this or that because they were in too much of a hurry and forgot theirs. Sorry, you snooze, you lose!!!!
